One seat, one price.

Checkout is Stripe's; the price is shown there again before any card details are asked for. For now seats are sold to VAT-registered businesses only: the VAT number is entered at checkout and the invoice is reverse-charged. A sole trader who is not VAT-registered can write to hello@quadrat.uk to be told when seats open to them; nothing else is sent.
What a seat does
The check reads the statutory biodiversity metric and tells you what would bounce it. A seat goes one step further: it writes the tables of the BNG assessment from the metric, and from the condition assessment workbook if you drop that too, into your own Word report, in the browser. Nothing is calculated and nothing is re-scored; every cell is transcribed exactly as the metric stores it. It replaces the few hundred cells a twenty-parcel site has you retype at every iteration. What comes out, on the Report tables page.
A seat is one person
After checkout you receive a seat key. Paste it once on the Report tables page; it is checked in your browser and kept only there, and the Build the tables button switches on. One seat is one person — the ecologist doing the work — on whichever of their own computers and browsers they use; the key is pasted into each. It is not shared between people: a practice buys one seat per person who builds tables and changes the number on the billing page whenever that changes. There is no site licence and no unlimited tier. The key is checked in the browser and Quadrat does not watch how it is used; the terms are per person and kept on trust.
Your files never leave your computer, with or without a seat: the metric, the workbook and the template are read by JavaScript in your browser and the document is written there. The only request a seated page makes is to fetch a fresh key when the old one is inside its last ten days. Payment and invoices are Stripe's; cancelling is one click on the billing page Stripe emails you a link to — the same number of steps as buying. Details on the about page.
